Yeeee Haw!
Getting ready for the boot race
Go Ryker Go!
Yeah, 2nd place!
That little cowboy in the blue shirt got first. Adorable!
Great job buddy, now get your horse ready for your next event!
Kya running the barrels. Technically she wasn't old enough, but they let her in.
She abandon her horse part way though and started checking out the buckets and the crowd.
Good run Kya, maybe next year. Too bad there is no old video of Grandma and Rainy so you can see how barrels are supposed to be run!
Ryker rounds his second barrel. He ended up getting first place in his age group.
Watching the other participants
Oh good, he wasn't the only one in shorts!
Barrel Crawl. It was a good run, but stiff competition. He didn't place.
Chow time
Ryker Cam
He dropped the camera and ran to the fence when this started happening.
Kya's first snow cone
Such a ham
Kya was too little to jump so she checked out the tractors.
A bucket of donuts yesterday and now this?! The Fair is awesome!
I'll take that Ryker.
Let er' Buck - hands down their favorite event was the bareback horse riding.
Rodeo grounds and parking lot as we headed home around 9:30.
And played a couple jokes on the "big kids" before we hit the hay.
One in Ty and Nikki's bed.
And one in Kara and Brian's.
Oh, how Ryker and Kya laughed that night. So easily amused, but it is no secret where they get that....
It was a good thing that Ryker actually won a couple trophy's in the stick horse rodeo because he would have been one upset cowboy. He was pretty obsessed/excited about winning a trophy after seeing this bad boy. Yes folks, it is a 1st place Sheep Riding trophy, circa 1982 or 1984 if I remember correctly, won by none other than Uncle Cam. There are more, but this dusty old one was packed around and awed at for weeks.
Of course, we pulled some pictures out of old albums so they could see how you win a trophy that big. Ride em' Cowboy!
Ryker and his trusty steed Chocky. It's short for Chocolate. Registered name: Chocolate Frosting Pudding Stick. There was a lot of naming discussion that day. Our stick horse Buttercup couldn't make the trip with us so we aquired Chocky from Pat Feldmann. He turned out to be quite the speed demon.
