Smokewagon in the Park

Smokewagon at Maiben Park during Berry Dairy Days. Ryker loved listening to Randy's band and can't believe he knows how to pay all those instruments.  Randy can play anything and probably played at least 5 different things this day Ryker saw him.

And he sings good

He was a little distracted from the band though when he saw this big red fella walking around.

Pace, Abby, and Ryker hit the dance floor.  You would not have believed some of the sweet moves Pace was coming up with.  He must watch his parents dance a lot!  He had a bend over, leg kick that was unstoppable!

Then they moved onto the fence to take care of some repairs

Safety goggles...check, hardhat....check...

Hey guys, give the tools to Abby.  She'd have this project finished by now.

And, back to the dance floor.  Uh, did you guys notice there is a girl you could hold hands with?

Oooo, I think they saw her.

Colton will be in the mix soon.  He just has to get a more stable on his feet before he runs with those crazy guys.

random

Dad Bear was stuffed in the backseat between Ryker and Kya while a bear for our friends road shotgun.  We got some weird looks.

A little measureing tape fishing for Kya

A little fence decorating for the BEHS state champion baseball players that live on our road to come home to.  The don't bring out the firetrucks at 2am to bring the bus into town like they do in Wibaux, so it was the best we could do.  I would have let Ryker blow the airhorn at them, but we didn't know what time they'd be home.

Get that belly off the ground girl!  (These pics are so far behind that she's almost walking now)

Ryker was "basting up" everything for a while.  Not quite sure where he got that.

Hello summer, hello strawberry shortcake!

Ryker moved his poop potty chart out of the bathroom and into the living room since he has been fully potty trained for months now.  He was pretty proud of himself.  Kya then promptly ripped it down and began to tear it apart and eat the pieces.

Don't look so innocent.  We both saw you do it.

Dad Bear

Seth had to spend a lot of time away from us while he was home because he was working on his skiff that wasn't completed by the company we bought it from on time.  Ryker was really missing Seth so I was worried about how he was going to handle Seth's departure.  We got him this giant bear and I told him that his Dad was really going to miss him so he got him a buddy to sleep with and hang out with while he was gone.  When he misses his dad and is sad, he can always cuddle up with his new buddy.  Cuddling up with that big furry guy always makes him happy again.  I even find him talking to it.  Fittingly, we call him Dad Bear.

I have taken it a step further and often get Dad Bear out of Ryker's bed before he gets up.  When he asks where he is, I always say "Must have gotten up early, just like Dad."  Then we go on the hunt and usually find him doing something Dad would do early in the morning.  Yep, of course this was my first placement of Dad Bear.  Ryker chuckled all the way to daycare.

Here's Dad Bear dressed up in Seth's clothes.

He thought this was so funny, he wanted to take my picture too.

Dad Bear just finishing his smoothie

Snuggled in ready to watch a movie

Yes, I probably get a bigger kick out of this than Ryker.  It keeps us both sane while Seth is gone.

Seattle Zoo

Put Me in the Zoo[Hardcover]
Love this book.  I'm surprised this is one of the few we do not own.

Apparently 4 year olds are better climbers than 2 year olds.  In Ryker's defense, he was just getting started, but he was not showing the Spidy skills that Asa was.

I can't remember what I was taking a picture of Asa doing, but I remember being distracted by Ryker barreling out of the tunnel in the background.

I've always skipped the bird place at the zoo, cause birds are boring and there was always a crowd trying to get in.   Boy was I missing out.  Now I know why there was always such a crowd.  You get to feed them and they will land right on your stick.

Ryker still talks about feeding the bird on my shoulder and always asks me if I remember how it pooped on my back, then laughs hysterically.  "Yes, Ryker, I remember the bird that pooped on my back."  I thought it was funny too.

Kya, Grandma Katha, and the snacks.
