It didn't get dark enough the start the movie until 9:00, but Ryker hung in there the whole time.  He loved it.  Kya tried to crawl all over and grab other people's stuff so I finally had to take her for a stroll until she fell asleep. 

Summer Eats

One of the best things about summer is all the great food.  Our CSA has once again provided us with some spectacular produce.

They don't grow watermelon, but we usually stop at Viva Farms on the way home from Riversong Farm and pick up any fruit we may not have gotten that week.

Eating outside and leaving the mess for the dogs to clean up is another bonus.

But you can't beat the company....

One other great thing about this summer is our lawn service.  Okay, it's not a service.  It is the neighbor kid.  Our riding lawn mower had some mechanical difficulties in June that Seth didn't have time to resolve by the time he left and I had already tried for three weekends but as much as it pains me to say it, am apparently lacking the mechanical skills for this breakdown.  I was forced to find an alternative and am oh so thankful I did.  I enjoy mowing my own lawn, but squeezing it in during naps was proving very difficult this year.  I don't have to make any calls or lift a finger, Reed mows it when he sees it needs it and I come home from work to a nicely manicured lawn.  Too bad he left for college now.

Ryker Cam

Ryker has his own camera and every once in a while I check what he has on it.  Most of these have been on his camera since May.  I find it very interesting to see what he finds "photo worthy."  There are usually about 10 of each, so I've just included a few.

I'm sure he was trying to document Kya's sweet combover in this one!

I wonder if he placed the duck there or if it was already there.

Whatever the case, he started to really zoom in on the duck for the next 8 shots.

I'm guessing this was a picture of George. 

He often takes pictures of pictures so this one doesn't surprise me.

This one I coaxed him into taking, because I won this sweet raffle basket from a Relay for Life team and I was very excited.  No, I haven't gotten to drink any of the wine, but when I do, it's going to be ugly!  I'm thinking I'll bust it out at our house warming party.  There was also a two nights stay at a hotel, lots of restaurant gift certificates, free wine gift certificates, chocolate, and tons of wine extras.  It's not about what's in the basket though, it's about the win!  Yay, me!

Hanna's Party

Ryker's friend Hanna had her birthday party at the gymnastic place.  Oh what fun.

That is of course, besides watching Hanna's brother Jake who's in highschool jumping onto the mat and following everything he did.  Jake is an awesome big brother and so good with the little kids. Ryker still talks about how fun he was and about how great he was at gymnastics!  Yes, buddy, someday you will be able to jump like Jake.
