Getting ready for Christmas and Happy 13th Cosmos!

Breakfast with Santa.  Once again, Ryker pulled something completely out of the blue to tell Santa he wanted for Christmas.....remote control hang glider????  That's the first I've heard of this.  Stick with the bike buddy.  I'm sure Santa's elves already have it whipped up.  I guess I should just be happy they didn't ask for a rabbit again like last year.

Anacortes Christmas Parade:  Ryker getting pumped up to run after candy.

Kya resting up to run after candy.

Seth wondering why we are not standing on the sunny side of the street.  Come on first timer!  There is no competition on the shady side.  Toughen up!

Here they come!

Ryker heading up to shake hands with the giant Shell guy.

Guess what's gotten Kya so excited.....

Yep, Mike and Sulley on top of the firetruck!

After breakfast with Santa and the parade, we headed to find the perfect tree.  We were looking for a 12-15 footer!

This was the biggest we could find.  It was only about 10 1/2 ft, but it was very big around and nice and fluffy.  It was perfect!

The kids thought it was pretty funny that the trunk was too big for the shaker.

Third Santa of the day!

Perfect!

Cosmos got some delicious leftovers from Sakura while we sung Happy Birthday.

Crazy Peeka crawled through the hole of the birdhouse.

Stop, Drop, and Roll

Ryker's pre school class toured the Anacortes Fire Department and of course Ryker and Kya were front and center the whole time.

Ryker was the first to volunteer when they were demonstrating the EKG machine.

How many kids can this stretcher lift?

The Grand Finale:  A song for the fire fighters!
The little guy next to Kya is one of Ryker's best friend's (Larkin) and his little sister Mara is next to him who will be starting pre-school in January like Kya.  They are already friends and are pretty excited to see each other every day!

Celebrity Seating

Kara and Brian bought the kids tickets to Sesame Street Live for Christmas and our seats were in the second row!  They were excited to say the least!

On the drive there, Ryker and Kya were arguing and I said if they didn't stop we weren't going to go.  Then I continued by saying "Bert and Ernie don't like arguing."  The second it came out of my mouth I knew I had made a mistake.  Ryker immediately says "Actually Mom, Burt and Ernie argue all the time."  Kara and I both busted out laughing.  "Yes Ryker, that is true, but even so stop fighting or we aren't going!"  Of all the characters, why did I say Burt and Ernie?

They can't take their eyes off the action!

They asked the audience what their favorite letter was and Ryker screamed and I mean screamed out "R!"  The lady on stage pointed in our direction and said "I hear an R, what other letters."  He was pumped!

Some people left and now they are front row!

Catching the streamers being shot form the confetti cannons.

Super awesome(!!!!) (while jumping up and down) is how Kya described the show.

Baby Schlepp's Shower

Being in a different state and having my husband gone fishing a lot, I miss a lot of stuff I should probably be at....Kara's bachelorette party, Kara's bridal shower (not actually sure she had one), ect.  This summer while we were at Fort Peck camping, we discussed me throwing her a baby shower.  I asked my mom to reserve the fairgrounds hall for us.  Her response, "YOU'RE going to throw a baby shower?  Have you ever been to a baby shower?"  Haha, totally legit questions, but still funny.  I responded by saying someone was going to do it so it might as well be me.  Her next question:  "Is your sister going to show up?"  Again, knowing us, a very legit question!  I am good at throwing parties and it's just another party, right?  Anyway, despite my lack of baby shower experience and my Mom's lack of confidence in my baby shower prowess, I think it went well.
It was a children's book theme so the cake was stacked books with "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, New Fish on top.

Prize table....you can never blow a party if you give away a lot of prizes!

This is totally how I roll so I had to print this out for the prize table.

We signed a book for the guestbook.

We started a pool to guess the baby's stats when it is born.  $5 entry, the winner gets half the pot and the expecting parents get the other.

Playing bingo by crossing off the gift she opens if you have that item on your card.

It's a wrap!  Kara survived, I survived, and I think my Mom is proud that we are broadening our horizons, by doing more girlish things.....haha, probably not.
Thanks to all who came!

After the baby shower we really got the party started by hosting a Fish Fry.  Kya and Josh partying it up!
