Playgrounds are empty on the weekdays

One of the best things about being on maternity leave is that you get to go do all the fun stuff while everyone else is at work so you get the whole place to yourself.  While Seth was showing a potential buyer the Viking Spirit, we hit the playground.  Apparently, Kya and I are a little slow for him.

Really, headfirst buddy?  You better hope you don't do this on a fast slide.

Kya, only a few days old slept most of the time in the sling while Ryker tore it up on the playset.

Get in there

For all you Montanan's, take note of my sweet 15+ year old Tshirt.  Even sadder than the fact that I still have it and wear it.....I actually have two!

We rolled down to Edison where the school lets out for the kids to walk through town in a cosume parade.  The people watching throw candy at them as they go by.  Ryker is dressed all in brown because he was a bear, but took off his bear hat to throw candy.

Passing out the candy.  He was throwing it, but was a little slow for some of the kids so they would just stop for him to put it in their bags.

Blanchard Halloween party

I couldn't help but think of Grandma Marj every time they put those plates down.  She loved a good cake walk or raffle.

Making his carmel apple

Face painting

Most kids got a ghost, pumpkin, spider, something Halloweeny painted.  Ryker....He got the mustache.  Looking good, buddy.

Saturday we went to downtown business trick or treating in Mount Vernon.  All ready with his pumpkin bag open.

Sweet tail

I wanted him to wear his brown shoes, but he insisted on his boots.

Cider making at Clayton's to end the day. Ryker served as quality control.  He had his share of apple juice.

Tossing the apples in the hopper.

Good times

All I want for my birthday........

Is to take out the jet ski....in November??????

We'll rewind a little on this one.  Seth bought this jet ski in October.  It's for strickly business, of course. You know, for scouting fish.  I won't go into the detail of how that all works.  I'm just happy he's no longer planning on purchasing an airplane......for now.  I think a few flying lessons are in order first.  Anyway, he and Ryker took it out in October and I thought that was crazy.  Then he and Pete took a spin a couple weeks later.  The nice thing is that you get the lake to yourself.  Now, it's November and on Seth's birthday, he came home from lunch with his friends and took the jet ski for a spin.  He's been plenty busy with the new house, boat, and baby and doesn't have time for anything else right now so I hope his chilly jet skiing day was perfect.

Pete and Seth riding together.  They said they wanted to see how fast it would go with both their weight on it, but I think they've just been missing each other.  Apparently, it went 64mph just in case you're curious.

Ryker is so pleased that there is another birthday.   I told him that we were going to have Dad's cake and he ran for the party hats.  Of course everyone had to have one, not just him.  Every cake is a "Birtday Cake" according to him and reason to party!

Ready, Set, Blow

When the smoke is this thick, you're officially OLD!

Siding

Our siding has actually been done for about a month but I haven't gotten a completed picture yet.  Here's some while in progress though.

Where's Waldo?  Dave is up there somewhere, just follow the ladder.  Ryker calls this Dave's house because he is always out there working and we already have a house I guess.  Why would we move next door?  I like to ask him things like when Dave is going to move in and if he will build a dog house for Blue or if Blue will share Cosmos and Chacon's house.  He comes up with some pretty funny answers.

Here is the sweet birdhouse Ryker and Seth built out of spare siding.

Rykers Birthday - Part II

We didn't have a big party for Ryker on October 4th since that was Kya's due date.  On the 17th there was a party at his grandparents house for all the October bdays:  Asa, Ryker, Katha, and Tara.  There was even a zero on the cake for Kya.

Bring on the presents

Ryker is pretty excited about his new guitar, but Dad can't get the strap on fast enough.

Pinyata time

Nothing says happy birthday like taking a few whacks at a monkey hanging from a tree.

Asa with the take down!

Jammin' on the deck with his new guitar.  He loves this thing.  He automatically starts dancing every time he picks it up.
