He rearranged them after I showed him how to make a carrot. He thought it made more sense for the bunnies to have carrots. They couldn't let go of each other's hands though so the one bunny had to hold them all for the other bunnies.

Ryker was pretty concerned that Kya got a chocolate bunny, because she can't eat them. I told him not to question the Easter Bunny. He knows what he's doing. Don't worry, I took care of hers.

What Beautiful Rock

Our granite countertops are in and they are gorgeous. Thank goodness Dave was there when they measured, because there were some questions that I wouldn't have had answers for. He also stayed with the guy while he measured because I had to take Ryker to an appointment in Seattle and the tip broke on the machine they use to measure so the guy had to drive 1.5 hours (each way) back to his shop. Too bad too because I wanted to get some pictures of him measuring with this crazy, long armed machine. I thougtht they were going to measure and trace onto paper or particle board. This is the best pic I could get off the internet.

This arm sat on a big tripod and it could reach all the way around the kitchen. It was all digital and then I saw how everything would be layed out with pictures of our exact granite slabs. I could put certain parts that I liked best on main parts of the counter and make sure that veins ect matched up. Basically, I got a digital picture of our countertops before they were ever intalled. Fabulous technology! No surprises, we got exactly what I expected!

I seem to be saying thank goodness for Dave a lot lately. I always find a way to survive while Seth is gone, but this year, as far as the house is concerned, survival has been much easier because of Dave. He's up here working almost every day so he lets me know who's coming and going. He also does a lot of things that he doesn't have too...way above and beyond what we are paying him for. I never worry about the kind of work he is doing because I know it will be top notch. There have been times that I haven't gone over to the other house for days. There's no way I would do that with anyone else. I would be out there every night checking on what had been done and making sure it was done right. Before I knew what Dave could do, I was sure it would be good, but I had no idea we were getting such a master carpenter! It's also nice getting to know Dave. He is one of Seth's long time friends, but I never really got it. What I knew of Dave, which was very little because we rarely saw him, he and Seth just seemed so different. Now that I know him better, I get it. He's an honest, hard working, genuinely nice guy. There is much more too it, but that pretty much sums it up.

Miss Kya got her first tooth this week and then her second! That, combined with an ear infection has been a great combination for sleep. I need a nap!

If only I could keep him caged for long periods of time...that reminds me, I need to go clean the sandwich off the couch now that he's in bed.

Ryker Cam-he's getting good, it's even centered.

We drove around and looked at the tulip fields at Ryker's request one day. Ryker wanted to go see the white ones. I actually thought this was a field of white daffodils. Turns out, when we got over to it, it was snow geese. Ryker laughed hysterically that we thought they were flowers as we were trying to get close to the field. We had to sit there for about 10 minutes because he loved the sounds they were making. I couldn't zoom in, because the only camera we had was Ryker's and he has broken the zoom feature.

Happy Mother's Day!

I had these pictures from over a month ago when my Mom was here when Ryker was in the hospital so I figured today was a good day to get them posted. She was also here this week for Ryker's broncoscopy, but she had to spend her actual Mother's day with her second favorite daughter on her way back home. Everything went well and they didn't find anything so either the 'peanut' never existed and some other freakish fluke caused his abscess, or more likey he was finally able to cough it up. A couple weeks ago his X ray showed that the abscess had shrunk to about half the size it was and the fluid was all gone. The broncoscopy confirmed this as well so now we just have a few follow up X rays 3 and 6 months down the road to be sure that everything is on track.

So Ryker wanted Grandma to use his foot spa. Then when she got in there, he's so into taking pictures, that he had to grab his camera. Her being crammed into our tiny bathroom with our toilet just about touching her on one side and garbage on the other, is about as funny as all the pictures he took of me over the last 7 months pumping milk, but I won't be posting any of those. I think the fact that he finds the pumping process fascinating yet amusing, combined with his love for anything mechanical, even if it is just a small pump, always makes him think to grab his camera. Of course, I'm a little tied up and can't stop him and my pleading with him not to snap a shot just makes it more fun for him. Maybe it's all just leading up to his future career as a dairy farmer. He does like to use the line "straight from the cow" every once in a while. He didn't come up with it, but he often repeats it in the correct context. Guess we'll need to take in a few more dairy farms this year during the Festival of Farms to be sure we're feeding any future interests.
