Oh Those Crazy Mutts

Ryker really likes the dogs but they are a bit big for him still. There is a little dog at his day care that is much more his size and he loves it. I'm trying to teach them not to lick his face and knock him over. Cosmos is less hyper so he's much more gentle. Plus he's not as interested in Ryker as Chacon is. He'll sit calmly while Ryker pokes at him. Chacon tries to turn it into a wresling match with the little man. We'll get there.

Watching Chacon eat his breakfast. I'm trying to get Ryker out to spend more time with them now that it is nice. Right now they are just way to excited whenever he comes out. I figure the more they see him in their territory, the more they will be bored with him like they are with me most of the time and not try to lick him to death whenever he sits in the grass.

This doesn't help their relationship either. I got Chacon to calmly sit down by him and Ryker went after his tail. That got Chacon jumping around again and thinking it was "crazy playtime."

Note to self-Don't load the dishwasher with Ryker around. He was taking the dishes out as fast as I could put them in.

Quite pleased with his new trouble making skills!

Yum-my

I'm so glad to see that Ryker shares my love for cereal. He's becoming quite the independent little eater. He's really good at using his fingers now instead of just squishing stuff with his whole hand. I know I didn't need to post 9 pictures of him eating Cheerios, but I just couldn't choose.

Breaking Ground

Our foundation is dug and we hope to begin construction August 1st for our new home.

Man on the Move

Ryker is now crawling. He has his own unique technique. It isn't the smoothest, but it gets him where he's going. He uses one foot and one knee. Always the left foot and right knee. You'd think he'd rotate, but he doesn't.

Ryker and I taking his trailer out for the first time.

Liz came too.

He loved it! He had a great time. Even snuck in a little nap in the middle.

Loves to cheer on the dog wrestling.

Looks like Cosmos won this round.

Seth was concerned with Ryker's rat tail and thought it may be time for a haircut! I think we can wait a bit.
Ryker is into his stuffed animals now at bed time.

Weighing in at 25.5 pounds.....Rykeeeeer, Wyyyyman!

It's all about the Chicks....

Ryker got to hang with his favorite girls on Saturday when we met for my birthday lunch. Here he is checking Abby out.

She seems interested. Even gave him a cute little smile. He seemed to be very into her.....

but we soon realized, he was just after her toy.

Once he got that, he was outta there. That's not going to get you any dates buddy.

Alexis is about 3 hours older than Ryker, but you wouldn't know it by looking at them. It's pretty amazing how differently they've developed. Her size is very deceiving. She can crawl and pull herself up to stand. Ryker just watches her go and tries to follow, but he's not quite as mobile yet. Besides the obvious of him being about twice her size, he also has 4 teeth and is starting on 2 more. She doesn't have any teeth yet. Usually Ryker is the aggressor and scares off the other babies, but he's met his match with this little lady. She grabs and pokes at him in return and isn't afraid to use him as a step stool to crawl up onto to get where she needs to go.
If he had a toy, she'd have taken it by now! He does have a quite a grip though, so he's got that going for him.

She got a hold of his sleeve and was yanking on his shirt.
Check out the colors he picked....Future Bobcat?

Goodnight Ryker, Goodnight George, Goodnight Moon.

Ride em Cowboy!

Ryker will probably never be much of a cowboy, but he sure looks good in the hat. Hopefully he'll at least get to take in a couple brandings with his Uncle Ty and maybe eventually a bucking horse sale or two.
