Spring Activities

Riding at Rhodes River Ranch

It was the last year she has to play Tball and she took advantage of it.  She knows the balls barely make it past the pitchers mound most of the time so she made sure she played pitcher and first base every single game.  While the coach was busy trying to get everyone's gloves on and spreading them out, she would just head out.  Another kid that was good, figured this out real quick and followed suit.  He and Kya would switch off pitcher and first base and then take a scrub position for the last inning.  Kind of unfair, yes, but the other kids didn't even notice.  Maybe some parents did, but I didn't really care.  The coach could have moved them anytime he wanted.   I think he was just glad there were two he didn't have to babysit the whole time they were out there and they actually stayed in their positions.

Best 3rd base coach in the league!

Grandparents Day Concert

It looks like she just threw the ball but she's actually doing some yoga warms ups.

Such a big crowd at this game that Ryker apparently needed a higher seat.

We went to Oregon for a weekend to hang with our friend Stevie and his family.  They took us to this amazing park.  The kids loved it!

Josiah and Ryker building.

Kya bouncing on a branch.  Such amazing trees!

Jumping Jacks at the lacrosse clinic in Anacortes.  Larkin is to Ryker's right, in the gray shirt and Mark helped with the clinic as well.  He's the grown up in the picture.

Kya was too young to do the lacrosse clinic this year, but she can't wait.

SJM planting a tree with the Mayor and parks staff.

Students of the month

This is going to look soooooo good Kya.  This is the best braid I've ever done.  Okay, so it's also the first braid I've ever done, but you're going to look fabulous!

When this kid needs money, I can get a lot of work out of him.  I left him a big list.  It took him 5 hours to finish it (there were a lot of breaks here and there) but he got the $5 he was after.

Feeding the sheep at the Farm.  Kya still has her sweet braid in.

Ryker is taking a shot on the far left.  He had Emmit and Larkin in his small group this day so it was extra fun.

The phone booth Seth and the kids fixed up for my birthday.

Apparently, the mom pushed these babies out a little early or something happened to her and she wasn't bringing food back so they took the leap on their own.  They weren't nearly as big or had the amount of feathers we usually see on the babies when they start flying.  We have a lot of nest we can watch in the spring. We've observed the mom's pushing the babies from the nests before.  There was a lot of discussion about how this all came to be.  Good learning experience for the kids but sad for the birds.

Spring concert

Open gym at Mount Baker gymnastics.  Ryker was up and down this rope 8 times.

Yes!  Just let your kids play without your constant interference!  I promise, they will survive.
