Wrapping up May, Kicking off June

The kid's buddies, Larkin and Mara came over to play on the slide.

Putting the finishing touches on the landscaping.

Ryker at swim lessons

After swim lesson water out of ears shake.

Soooooo, Kya planned this wedding.  When Seth and I (the guests) arrived everything was ready.  Look at that decorated walkway!

Ryker was the groom.  He was on board, but not exactly falling into line with Kya's perfect wedding plans.

He did kiss the bride when he was told to.

Once the reception was over, the dance began!

Seth was assigned to be the photographer, but he had to pass the camera off to me to restrain the groom who was being unruly and harassing the bride!  I don't even think he got to finish his pretend grape juice and tomato he was served.

Jay birds!

Splash pad opened June 1st.  Guess what day we were there?  Yep, June 1st!

Since Seth was leaving before Father's day, the kids had a whole day planned to celebrate with him before he left.  Of course, it included all fun things they like to do, but he did get strawberry shortcake after dinner!

Softball toss

We only got to do 2 track meets before leaving for Montana.  Ryker is to the age where he only gets a ribbon for first, second, or third.  He got a second and a couple 3rds over the course of both meets.  He wasn't thrilled because he used to win a lot last year.  I explained to him that he is in the 5-6 year old category so next year he'll be one of the older kids and have a better chance of getting first.  I also explained to him that he could walk really early and was coordinated as a little kid so while a lot of the little kids were falling over the hurdles, he was running to the finish line.  The kids are catching up to him now and there are some super fast 5 and 6 year olds out there.  I stopped short of telling him to work on his softball toss and shot put, because may he'll get Cam's speed, but I'm guessing he's not going to be sprinting to too many more 1st place finishes.

This girl, however, is still more coordinated than most kids her age so she still thinks of herself as quite the trackster.  She's more into looking at and talking to the other runners though than actually running.  Also, they aren't letting the little ones run the hurdles anymore because too many kids were falling so she was pissed about that.

I asked her if she wanted to bring running shoes.  Nope, she'll wear her sequined dress shoes, but she would like to grab her running headband.  I didn't have the heart to tell her that running headbands do not have a giant pink flower hanging off them!

Super worried about where the other competitors are.  I am glad he wants to win, but I think he might be a little over the top for his age.

Getting in the zone for the long jump....hahah.

Go!

1 foot, 3 inches!

My Birthday

This super duper waterslide arrived just in time for my big day!

My lovely cake made by Seth, Ryker, and Kya.

Yep, it tastes as good as it looked!

Back out to work on the picnic table.

Busy April

The kids hatched eggs again at their pre-school.  We had to go in over the 3 day weekend and make sure we didn't miss anything on the days we weren't at school.  Good thing we did, because there was some action!

Hmmmm....Hazmat Suit?

Kya is a pretty good little swimmer for 3.

Ryker was starting to learn strokes in April when this was taken.  He's not pretty good at the American Crawl.

First tooth gone!  4/17/14
The one beside it followed suit shortly after.

We had the opportunity to watch some baby birds hatch this spring.  We checked them every day from the time they were eggs until the time they flew away.  We even saw the parents kick them out of the nest.  The kids loved it all except the part when they first came out of the eggs and were pink and featherless.  They thought they looked too gross!  Kya's exact words were "they look rotten."

Paccar Open House

Ryker was pretty into this heat sensing machine.

Waiting for their food at The Net

Ryker kept trying to put wrestling moves on Seth.

But he couldn't quite get past Seth's sweet defensive move....the stiff arm to the forehead.

Tulip Parade in LaConner

It was a perfect sunny spring day!

We spent Easter at the Great Wolf Lodge with Rachael, Bob, and Asa.

The kids couldn't believe that the Easter Bunny found us there.

Kya loved her new suit from the Easter Bunny!

Well that's a wrap!  See you next time Great Wolf Lodge!

Ryker had been chatting with Asa then he started suspected Seth and I were the Easter Bunny.  All the way home he kept saying if there were no eggs in the yard when we got home, he knows we are the Easter Bunny!  I didn't say a word.  You have to get up pretty early in the morning to be one step ahead of me.

Sure enough when we got home, there were eggs everywhere!  Whoa, that bunny is good!
