Kya on one of the last rides on her balance bike. As of June 30th, she graduated to her big girl bike with no training wheels.
We got a piano. Now time for some lessons.
BBQ'ing with the Werder's.
Smor's
They were so happy to sit next to each other when we were on our way to Ryker's class field trip. We had to make room for one more booster for one of Ryker's classmates.
Inside the camera truck at the Anacortes' Public Works Open House at the Waste Water Treatment Plant. Ryker's group was all girls. I'm not sure how that happened. Kya is in the front, happy to be part of the school crew! She is sooo ready for pre-school and begs to start this year. I have to keep reminding her that she is 2 and she'll have plenty of time for school. We've decided to start her in January, but she just doesn't think she can wait that long!
Locating metal
Surveying
And the moment they've all been waiting for.....riding in the trucks!
Kya really thought she was driving this garbage truck and she was super serious about it.
Get your cans on the curb...this guy may hit them!
All the other kid's were content to play with the backhoe steering wheel, but when it was Ryker's turn he jumped right up and turned the seat around so he could use the controls.
Recycling demo
Lunch while the pickup got a flat tire fixed.
Anacortes Parks and Rec fishing derby!
We borrowed a row boat from Grandma Vi, we geared up (sort of), and we got skunked.
We did have fun though.
We'll be much better prepared next year. We may even know what kind of bait to use or what kind of fish are in the lake! Sorry kids, I'm from Montana and you're Dad has been gone every summer since he was 7 so we're not exactly well versed on some of these fishing areas. We'll have it figured out by next year!
Since fishing wasn't going that well (for us, everyone else was catching a lot) we went for a little nature hike and had some snacks.
Trolling back for the free lunch and to check out every one's catches.
