Clam Dig

We got a house with Rachael, Bob, Asa, and Tara at Seabrook so we could go to a clam dig.  The kids are already looking tired after swimming at the pool.

Monkey business in the kids room.  Apparently Ryker and Asa were trying to booby trap Kya.

Seth laying some monkey business ground rules before someone ends up with a broken neck off the top bunk!

Long day for Kya.  She fell asleep on the way to the campfire.

Ryker, Kya, and I walked to the ocean while the fire was getting started.  They couldn't wait until the next day!

Back for marshmallows!

Finally clam digging time!

Ryker just wants to dig anywhere and find one.  We weren't even close to the water yet and he had to dig some test holes to be sure we weren't missing any!

Aaawwww, this is what they look like.

Grandpa Geoff digs one out for him.

Kya was not that excited about the looks of them.  She promptly dropped the one on the bottom middle of this pic as soon as it stuck out the long neck you can see in the pic.

Ready for another as long as it keeps it's ugly neck in it's shell.

Ryker's goal was to be the first one back.  It's open for clamming all day, but everyone kept talking about how you get out there right when it opens, get your limit, and how fast they usually are.  Ryker took this to mean that it was some kind of race so he was determined to get back to camp first.  He and Tara were neck and neck the entire walk back until Ryker sprinted when he got close to camp.  He must have thought Tara was going to try to beat him.  As I write this, he's sitting beside me talking about how he won that race.

April Sunny Days

I love all the ways Kya comes downstairs with her underwear on wrong, but just when I thought Ryker was way passed that stage.  He comes down with them on backwards.

Playing outside all day during our sunny April, took a toll on this girl most days.  She's no longer a nap taker, but I'd often find her asleep somewhere after a long day outside.

To the beach!

You can't use a new fire hose water shooter without putting the whole outfit on.

Luckily we had such good weather Seth was able to fly a lot and get all his hours in.  The kids wondered where he was spending so much time so we cruised by the airport on our way home from school one day and saw him land.  He's in the yellow and white plane.

He didn't see us stalking him so we called him and told him to step out of the plane and wave before we had to get going on our way.  The kids loved it!

Kya was very impressed with the Shishkaberry.

We went back the next day to watch the magician Uncle Stinky.  He was awesome.  It was a little rainy so there weren't that many people there so Ryker, Kya, and I all got to participate in the show.  The kids were amazed!
