One whole week confined to a small hospital room = A heck of a lot of activities

As miserable as it was, in a weird way it was kind of nice.  We got to just hang.  No house construction, no boat work, no house cleaning, no work.......just played with the little man.  We did really miss Kya though.  Ryker asked about here all the time.  She wasn't able to come visit because he was in a quaranteened area of the hospital.

The gifts just kept coming.....

I wish I had gotten a picture of him in his hospital clothes.  Here he is in the pants, but after the first couple days he didn't want to wear shirts so I didn't get him with his tie back yellow shirt.  The whole outfit was sweet!

A little hide and seek

I think you need to find a smaller partner to hide with you Ryker.  Kara totally gave you away!

Cat in the Hat game: Seth going for the "under the trick-a-ma-stick with the fan between your knees."

There's that "big smile" I've been trying to get him to stop doing.

Headed to town, on a bus, until as usual they crashed into a deer, or maybe it was a porcupine this time.  Should I be concerned that everytime Ryker is driving something; truck, forklift, backhoe, motorcycle, street sweeper, just to name a few of his favorite vehicles, he crashes.  He always hits some sort of animal or building.  Sometimes it is just a curb, but that one is totally realistic because he rides around with his dad a lot :)

We played a lot of "I spy" out his window

Best toy in the hospital: the bed

So Ryker is under the impression that I can actually play the guitar.  He even requests songs.  I can also make up sweet songs about just about anything.  He likes to pick 5 things and have me sing a song about those five things....that part I am good at, but anyone that knows me, knows I can't actually play the guitar.  Right now in his eye's though, I'm awesome!  I'm thinking that if I want to keep the charade going, I will need to start lessons now.  Then by the time he is old enough to catch on, I'll be able to play a few easy songs and by the time he's old enough to know better, I will be as good as he remembers.

Thank you Uncle Ty and Nikki.  He still has his balloons and more than a month later, they are still floating.

Morning stretches

Squeezing playdough though a shaped hole never gets old....oh to be 2 again...

Lovin' the playdough necklace. He had no idea I could make such awesome jewelry.  Just wait until we pull out the polished agates and hot glue buddy.  You are going to see your mom create masterpieces!

Thanks Lacy, Megan, and Sara!

Styrofoam, you are no match for Ryker.  Even in his sleep, he can break you!

Finally busting out of this sh*tbox!  We had so much stuff to get to the car and Ryker would not let me take it out and come back for him.  I asked him numerous times if I could just take a load and then come back for him and the rest of the stuff.  Every time, I got a big fat NO before I even finished my sentence.  His suggestion was to take him and a load and he would wait in the car while I came back for the next load.  Hhmmm...he would rather wait in the car by himself than wait in this room he's spent any entire week in.  I guess I would probably have felt the same.  I had the nurse find us a wagon and we made the two trips together.

Thanks to everyone that came to visit, to Grandma Katha for taking care of Kya, to everyone that sent care packages and gifts, to Seth's crew for all the work they did in his absence, allowing him to jump off in Ketchikan to fly home and getting the boat safely to Sitka, and to my Mom and sister who dropped everything and showed up immediately to help out....Ryker, you owe your grandma a trip to Ireland someday.
